The long awaited George S. Eccles Student Life Center is almost complete! On Jan. 12, this state-of-the-art building will be open its doors to multiple gymnasiums, climbing walls, an indoor pool and large areas for cardio and weight training. The 172,000-square-foot facility will also house a meeting space for students and food services, and will be the new home for the Outdoor Adventure Program.
With the opening of the new Student Life Center, there will be a brief interruption in Campus Recreation‘s offerings during the winter break. The Field House will officially close on Dec. 31. All court areas and the track will be available through that date, but cardio and strength equipment will be removed Dec. 8-12. Fitness classes and personal training will end on Dec. 8. The HPER Complex and Pool will be open until Jan. 4.
The Outdoor Adventure Program will continue to operate at its current location, near the mouth of Red Butte Canyon, through Dec. 31. It will then close Jan. 1-11 and re-open on Jan. 12.
