Olympic Fever!

Wow!  It’s the first day of competition and the village is buzzing.  You can feel the energy and intensity in the air.  It’s a pretty cool feeling.  We have two medal events and two non-medal events today.  In Long Track, the men will be skating the 5000, which is a medal event.  You’ll see Shani Davis, Chad Hedrick, and Trevor Marsicano.  In Short Track, our mendal event is the men’s 1500 featuring Apolo Ohno, JR Celski, and Jordan Malone.  Our non-medal events are both in Short Track and will include the ladies relay (skaters will be determined 30 minutes prior to the event) and the ladies 500 (Katherine Reutter and Aly Dudek).

It is such an amazing experience being here.  I have met some incredible people and am looking forward to our athletes showing the world just how good they are.  I feel so blessed to be a part of this! On a sadder note, as you all have heard, we lost a member of our Olympic family yesterday.  Please pray for his family, friends, teammates, and coaches.

I do have a few pictures attached here.  The IOC is very particular about what pictures you can and cannot use.  I cannot post any pictures of areas where access is restricted to those of us with credentials.  So, you’ll have to settle for some of these instead.

Be sure to watch……Team USA is going to rock your world!!

We’ll take whatever pics the IOC will allow you to share with us. Thank you for the write-ups on this site & your Facebook notations. What you share allows all of us an opportunity to live the Olympic experience. Continue to enjoy, Nicole.
