When NBC Learn and the National Science Foundation wanted to explain the scientific properties of the playing surface for half of the Winter Olympic sports, they came to University of Utah mathematician Ken Golden. Having made numerous trips to the tips of the planet to research, study and test frozen waters, Golden is an authority on ice. He teams up with figure skater Gracie Gold, and speed skaters J.R.
